A heartwarming romance amidst the magic of Christmas

Christmas Elvez by Audie Lewis is a delightful holiday novella following Lucy Weathers, a journalist who has just lost her job. Since the magazine’s sudden closure three months ago, she  hasn’t had much luck finding another one either. With her severance pay and savings slowly coming to an  end, Lucy is desperate enough to take up the Christmas Elvez job she found on a Twitter ad.

Christmas Elvez is like your typical gig app, where clients post certain jobs they want to be done and you agree to do them for a price. The only difference is that all the tasks are Christmas-related.

Although Lucy loves the Christmas season, spending the festive month tending to other people’s Christmas tasks is a far cry from what she thought she would be doing. But with bills to pay and no other job prospects in sight, she’s willing to give it a shot , at least until she finds something more permanent in the future.

Will Lucy’s new job bring her more than some extra bucks? Or will the overwhelmingness of it all leave Lucy to spend Christmas all by herself?

One of the standout features of this book is the author’s simply yet engaging writing style. The short length of the book—only 84 pages—makes it perfect for a quick and satisfying read during the busy holiday season, or just before it. Despite its brevity, Christmas Elvez manages to pack in all the necessary elements of something sweet and romantic.

As Lucy takes on various gigs through the app, readers are treated to a glimpse of different aspects of the holiday season. From decorating Christmas trees to baking cookies to singing Christmas carols, the book takes us on a fun and festive journey. The author’s vivid descriptions of Christmas sights, sounds, and smells create a cozy and nostalgic atmosphere that will transport you into the heart of the season.

The only downside of the book is the particularly predictable plot. It does not detract from the overall enjoyment of the story—because I get my romance and I’m good with it!—but I’d be lying if I said I didn’t see much coming. Still, you’ll get the right amount of romance and nostalgia for the Christmas season.

Christmas Elvez is a sweet and charming holiday romance that will fill you with festive cheer. If you’re looking for a quick and satisfying Christmas romance that will warm your heart, Christmas Elvez is definitely worth checking out.
